France's Virtual Fitness Programs Soar in Q4 2023

As the year wrapped up, France saw notable activity in the virtual fitness space. Sensor Tower's comprehensive analysis of the top five virtual fitness programs provides a glimpse into the user engagement and popularity of these apps on the unified platform during the fourth quarter of 2023.
Macadam - Walk And Earn experienced a fluctuating trend in downloads, starting the quarter with around 50K and seeing a mid-quarter dip to approximately 24K, before a rebound to nearly 29K by year's end. The app's weekly active users remained robust, maintaining a base above 300K and peaking at around 363K in the final week of December.
Basic-Fit showed a decrease in downloads throughout the quarter, from about 41K to over 25K, while weekly active users saw a high of nearly 620K in mid-November before descending to approximately 508K by the close of December.
WeWard kicked off the quarter with downloads at roughly 31K, underwent a dip to nearly 16K, and experienced a surge to about 32K by year's end. Despite the download volatility, weekly active users displayed a downward trend, starting at over 5M and declining to around 4.2M in the last week.
Strava: Run, Bike, Hike not only showed a resilient revenue stream, ranging from approximately $81K to over $106K, but also a notable spike in downloads from around 15K to 41K during the last week of December. Weekly active users experienced a dip to below 900K but rebounded to over 1M by the quarter's end.
Lastly, Decathlon Coach: Sport/Running saw a steady decline in downloads from about 23K to 12K, with a year-end jump to roughly 24K. Active users hovered around the 90K mark for most of the quarter, dipping to 83K before climbing back to around 94K in the final week.
